I've been practising fire recently and wanted to continue this focus for this exercise so I decided to not animate the smoke. I had to simplify the design so I could animate it, which looking back at it now I wish I had kept it as detailed and just worked longer at it!

Awesome man!!! FX animation is fascinating, especially fire. Michel Gagne is the only one I've really ever known of, but Matt Timms is now on my list of favs for FX. Nice work. I love the colors you use and the flow of that fire on his head.
